Hugh J. Abercrombie, Ph.D., Vice President, Business Development
Before joining Birch Mountain in 1997, Hugh worked as a research scientist with the Geological Survey of Canada, where he studied fluid migration and the deposition of gold and precious metals in sedimentary basins. Hugh has over 20 years of experience in geology, geochemistry, and mineral exploration, and is a past president of the Calgary Mineral Exploration Group.
David E. Reid,
M.A.SC., P. Eng. , F.E.I.C. Vice President – Facilities Engineering
Dave joined Birch Mountain to oversee the design, and installation of kilns and other facilities required to process limestone. Dave worked with TransCanada PipeLines over a 31 year period, including 8 years as Vice President, Engineering and Construction. In the past 7 years he has worked as Project Manager for the design and construction of a chemical plant, and recently spent 2 years in China managing the construction of a 3900 km gas pipeline.
John Clarke
FCQ, MBA, CFO and Vice President Finance
John Clarke spent ten years as a Chartered Accountant working for KPMG. He then moved to Fort McMurray and worked for Syncrude Canada. He served as Project Controller in his twenty-two year career. John joined Synenco Energy as Northern Lights Controller and worked as Canada Controller for Jacob Canada before joining Birch Mountain Resources on January 1, 2008.
