The Muskeg Valley Quarry was opened in December 2005 and is central to the oil sand mines. The location of the quarry (shown in red) is approximately 60 km north of the city of Fort McMurray in Township 94, Range 10, W4M.
The Muskeg Valley Quarry We currently have one crushing plant with a capacity of 7.5 million tonnes per year, based on a throughput capability of 1400 tonnes per hour producing 20 mm product. The large capacity plant was specifically designed for our limestone formation. With abundant screening capacity, it can produce aggregates to any gradation currently specified by Alberta Transportation, Public Works Canada, and the Canadian Standards Association.
