Quicklime Application for Flue Gas Desulphurization

Quicklime is used extensively for removal of sulphur dioxide (SO2) from flue gases at large industrial or power generating plants. Currently quicklime is being evaluated to reduce SO2 emissions produced by upgrading bitumen at oil sand facilities.
Benefits of using quicklime:
            1. Higher SO2 removal efficiency
            2. Low capital outlay
            3. Proven and reliable technology
