The Muskeg Valley Quarry was opened in December 2005 and production began in March 2006. The limestone quarry is supplying the various types of limestone products. Our strategy for aggregate production is to take advantage of economies of scale by producing several products from the four distinct limestone units in the deposit. Limestone from the quarry is suitable for road construction, concrete and reagent limestone products.
Aggregate products are used in construction of plants and infrastructure and in the operation of oil sands plants for mine roads and facility pads.

• Typical Aggregate  - 75 million tonnes needed over 35 year life of an oil sands mine
• Concrete Aggregate - 500,000 tonnes needed over 5 - 7 years to build an oil sands plant
• Future demand anticipated for cogeneration FGD and tailings water clean up
